Enlightenment ideals?
Yes, but more importantly, it's a quote from the Declaration of Independence.

The Preamble of the Constitution also mentions establishing justice and securing the blessings of liberty. I've read it a couple of times now and I haven't found "except for the gays" in there.

All men where created equal.

Oh I was trying to point out what ideas were founded on. I get your point, yes and I agree with it. I'm a devoted Christian and I think forcing every moral of it with government power is a bad representation of the core teachings of my belief.

The whole things is nature vs nurture.

As for the Christianity part, no they arent against homoloveuals but they are against gay marriage.

wouldn't gays be an answer to kids who are in need of adoption? you could say that regular couples could do that but they'd most likely have their own children. so gays would be an answer to the kids in need, in the long run.

Except god says marriage is only supposed to be between a man and a woman.
Actually my god says anyone can get married. My god is also the right one, I asked him and he said so. Sorry, looks like you're wrong AND going to hell. Bummer.

I think marriage as a whole is handicapped
it's just expensive and a legally binding way to say that you're not single
not to mention that a metric forgetton of marriages end in divorce these days
The sole purpose of humanity is to survive and reproduce.
cant do that by putting your snake in a butt lol
unfortunately for you, you can't do it with your hand either

lol'd hard

1. Religion and gay marriage
We do have to talk about religion in a gay marriage thread. It's a major block for the legality of gay marriage.

2. Marriage is for having kids. Gays can't have kids
Well, a hetero couple can get married and not have kids. This argument does not work.

3. Christian nation
No, not at all. Just because the teachings of a religion might happen to include basic common sense, doesn't mean it was founded on them. Could someone at least explain which principles are "from" Christianity?
