I bet we were the apes all along!

And then some random guy wakes up from a dream.
The end

I don't mean to bump but I finally saw the commercial on the Discovery Channel (after the commercial was starting to playing and then abruptly cut off by deadliest catch or something multiple times and I couldn't figure out what the forget it was).

This looks freaking amazing.  I'm definitely pumped to watch.

Bump because I was right about the movie sucking.

This is the original Planet of the Apes from 1968. It's pretty stuff to be honest, because film making has evolved so much since then it really can't hold a candle to what we have today. Is this the thing that you loved and experienced as a child in late-1960s America that you just can't stand to see remade?

Well if the 1968 version is stuff then what about this 2011 movie? Evolved film making couldn't keep that candle lit, now could it?

Yeah, just like I was right about the sun setting.
It's Planet of the Apes, how could anyone expect it to be good?

Because the original movie was a classic and people seem to think the next installment will be a classic.

It's not a classic, it's heralded for its breakthroughs in makeup and costumes, but it was generally thought to be pretty dumb.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes was awful.

Stop remaking this stuff hollywood.

Now by the thought of the movie being dumb do you mean from the generation that grew up with it or this generation?

My dad said it was dumb, then again he turned 41 a few weeks ago so what does he know about older movies?

It wasn't that bad; I actually enjoyed it.

Damn dirty apes won't stop remaking stuff. Hollywood needs to learn that people are tired of remakes of old movies and shows.
