If I wasn't required to fully believe in a deity and/or read the bible, I'd gladly join a religion I guess.

Wait...

The thing is, it's hard to accept almost any higher deity based-belief if you look at it with a 100% realistic viewpoint.

#1: Churches. Churches are the #1 thing that have ruined religion for me. This is mainly because its boring! Like seriously, why do I have to spend 2 hours sitting in an uncomfortable chair listening to blabber. All they ever talk about is "God is good", but never give us a reason why. For one church is only an hour long. Sorry that you're too impatient to be able to sit for an hour and listen. Second, they give plenty of reasons why God is good, that's the whole point of church; to praise God for all the good thing's he's done.

#2: Praying. Seriously, probably the most annoying thing christians do. I mean, in my opinion all praying is is just talking to yourself and expecting an answer, which never comes. Praying is believing. Believing that someone is there listening to you when you need them the most. No one expects an answer right away when they pray and if they do they're stupid. You may not  be answered at all but its the fact that you've gotten your problems off your chest that's the point and it helps you feel a little better

#3: "Blessing food". I guess this could go along with praying, but I feel it deserves another number. Like seriously, nothings worse than going out to eat and getting a huge juicy steak, only to have to bow your head and hold hands while smelling the damned thing. I mean, seriously, when Im hungry I wanna eat my stuff. Once again, impatient. It takes two seconds to pray before you eat your meal. It's not going anywhere, calm down.

#4: Creation of our world. This is another thing that gets on my nerves. Sometimes when my dad gets in an argument with an atheist about god, all I hear is "Oh yeah? Then how was our world formed?" Seriously, i dont give a stuff how our world was formed, and where we go when we die. All i care about is that im here now.same

#5: Knowing that Im not in control of my future. Sometimes in church my pastor says things like "God has a plan, and you're part of it! Before god even created the Heavens and the Earth, he knew what your life was going to be like!" Quite frankly, I like being in control, and not knowing that my life is to go a certain way.You are in control of your future. God know's that will become. He has no action in what comes of it though.

#6: God loves everyone. Now this is complete bullstuff. Its impossible to love everyone. I mean, how can god look down on the world, seeing Flash Mobers,  and still love them? Lives lost, families ruined, fatherless/motherless children, people scared forever. God’s love for all of mankind results in the fact that God shows His mercy by not immediately punishing people for their sins

#7: Its impossible for god to exist. I find it hard to believe god exists, i mean, it is literally impossible for someone to be alive sense the beginning of time. I mean, it hurts my head even thinking about it. Something or someone had to create him, and then something/someone had to created. Ill just leave it at that, because its hard to word.Don't think about it then. It's called having faith and just believing.

#8 We must live our lives for god. Now this just pisses me off. Christians say all the time "We must live our lives for god! He sent his son to die for us!" I find it bullstuff. Why would god create us, only for us to worship him forever?God doesn't expect us to worship him for every second of every day of our life. Living your life for God means just being a general good person. Hence he gave us free will.

I'll be back (looks at time - 12:26 eh, later today to post.  So far, I can crack most of these arguments.  It will take something alot more than what a 600-character limit will provide.

Let me leave you with this:
Scripture has no paradoxes and no contradictions.
Try to find one, you wont succeed.

I became Christian after watching Jesus Christ Superstar.
Now I want to be homoloveual and religious too!

"If religion were fact it wouldn't require faith"
~someone

Faith is duty.
Faith is service.
Faith is reverence.
Faith is an experiance.

I'd like to be in a religion that benefits me. I like the calming aspect of choirs and amazing churches, but believing in a deity and studying a huge work of (arguably) fiction doesn't cut it for me.

Kira worded that so beautifully.

I take my religion like a tough man should, going down to the core teachings within the Bible and not afraid to speak about it and try to apply the New Testament teachings.

Kira worded that so beautifully.
I hope you're being serious
I've never done that before
and I tried real hard :c

Actually, my church runs from 9-11, but our pastor likes talking so sometimes we go up to 12

Karma.

It's mostly good to me :3
