I'm Giving my Cousin a Computer, Only Problem is What Linux Distro to Use?

Now, before you say "get windows!"  I don't have enough money for that at the moment, and the computer probably couldn't run any newer ones.  Besides, many Linux distros are easy (not ALL of them, but the major ones are.)  They aren't tech savvy so I need an easy distro or one that's easy to learn, so far Ubuntu is looking good.  So vote in the poll.

Specs for it...
512 MB Ram,
30 GB Hard Drive,
~1.0 Ghz processor.

Discuss.  Also, they didn't ask me to do this.  I'm just trying to get rid of some old computers I have laying around.
