As far as I'm concerned the public's right to social services, infrastructure improvements, funding for the sciences, etc. etc. etc. far outweighs the top bracket's "right" to buy a solid gold jetski. Since when was that a right, anyway?
If a society needs people to sacrifice personal property for it to work, it's not a very good society.
You're living in one.
And?
You don't need to be lucky to be rich.
give back
Alright I'm going to forego being centrist and just say it. Nobody deserves a loving multimillion dollar income no matter what they've done. Maybe if you've cured cancer forever you can have your gold airplane but nobody else. It's been consistently shown that societies where the rich and the poor are more equal are MORE HAPPY.
Freedom > Happiness
Bullstuff. As far as I'm concerned you can do whatever you want as long as it doesn't harm other people. Not giving back to society HARMS PEOPLE DIRECTLY.
