They didn't mess it up, they forgeted it up.

They paid no attention to what the market was looking for and went by their own agenda, almost like they wanted it to fail.

EA reminds me of Gameloft... The can't make up they're own game Ideas so they Buy other companies... Gameloft actually makes alike games Such as Nova (halo) 9mm (GTA) GangStar (another GTA or Rpg) and many many more...

They paid attention to what the market was looking for. Just not the original market. It went towards little kids. And it worked anyway.

Yeah, but little kids never played Spore -_-

The original plan for Hero was actually a port of Space Stage over to Wii, actually. I wish they had done that instead, frankly.

And why did they shirk the online capability? I think so very often in most Wii games, "They could have made this online, it would have been better." An online Sporepedia (which, for the record, was going to be implemented into the Space Stage Spore Hero original concept) would have been fantastic. They were very stingy with the number of creatures you could create in Hero too.

I don't know why everyone is freaking out. Popcap has no good games... The only decent one is Plants vs. zombies and it wasn't that great.

Valve is big, but does not release many games. And also made Steam, so they're cool. And they made TF2 free, so that makes them awesome.
