A few games that I want say that the gameplay will be 10 hours long. Is that long for a game?

The game is asura's wrath, and they said it's main focus is single player. If that helps at all :u

no, unless the game has good replay value then it's not really worth it.

Well, I guess it depends on the Genre...

Oblivion had over 400 hundred hours of gameplay + replay value

but games like CoD have 4 hours of gameplay because the main part of the game is Multiplayer.

I guess you're correct. But my opinion is kind of biased because im not a big fan of the whole, "Call of Duty" genre (for lack of a a better word).

it's biased in the same way saying "chocolate cake is good" is biased. i all depends on your tastes.

IMO multyplayer on most cod games suck ass. you can play for hours and only get into a few good matches.

That's about 2-4 days of fun should you not rush through the game.

We're talking about sitting down and actually playing the game, not the period of which you play it over.

10 hours of gameplay really isn't long but its today's standards really. So in Australia you pay $100 AUD for a game that lasts 10 hours, thats $10 for an hour of entertainment. Really isn't worth buying games from the stores these days. A game that gives you 20 hours of gameplay is much better, MP really can't be timed on how much you play because its designed for players to do the same scenario over and over, depending on the person that can vary extremely.

If I get 100 hours of MP game play and 12-16 hours SP I'm usually happy with my purchase.

400 hours my ass. I would say closer to 100 hours or ~50 if you rush through main quest line only.

Well the main story will take you at least 25-30 hours to complete. Then there are the guild story lines of which there are 5, each will take you around 10-15+ hours to complete. There are also many many random side quests that all together can take you more than 30+ hours to complete. Also, add in the potential for exploration and messing about and this game can easily last up to 150 hours. It lasted even longer for me. There is also the Knights of the Nine DLC quest line that you can buy which will take you anywhere from 5-10 hours to complete. And best of all there's an Expansion Pack for Oblivion called The Shivering Isles which has a whole new world to explore and will take more than 30+ hours to do everything in.

And yes, I was counting DLC

mmorpg has hundreds of hours of gameplay. unfortunately there aren't that many good ones.

I remember some of the old PS 1 and PS 2 games that had well over 200 hours of gameplay.

Star Ocean the Second Story - Over 80 Different Endings
Dark Cloud 2 - Lot's of stuff to do
Secret of Mana
Legend of Mana
Dawn of Mana

And then there are games like Super Smash Bros for N64 that can be beaten quickly, but has lot's of replay value.
Kinda like Conkers Bad Fur Day
