I'm not getting my taxes risen because we have to rehabilitate prisoners. Let them rot, and let the victims enjoy justice.

In all seriousness, I think convicted murderers should be executed. The punishment for killing is death.
Everyone else should be rehabilitated. The life sentence just seems loving pointless.

If you tell yourself "In spite of my abusive mother, I can make something out of my life, and I can be successful, and not end up in jail, regardless of the hardships I face." Then that will happen.

norway rehabilitates people, and they have low crime rates and a third of the rate of repeat offenders we do, so it is shown to work
