Here is the point. Automatic = more bullets flying in less time. If your first shot was on target, then the second and third would kill the target right after the first made contact. With a simple 9mm pistol, someone would easially lose their aim after the first shot. If the first shot wasn't well places and hit like their shoulder of something, the target still can attack them. But if your first shot with the automatic hits their shoulder, there is a good chance that another bullet hit them in neck.
