Here is the point. Automatic = more bullets flying in less time. If your first shot was on target, then the second and third would kill the target right after the first made contact. With a simple 9mm pistol, someone would easially lose their aim after the first shot. If the first shot wasn't well places and hit like their shoulder of something, the target still can attack them. But if your first shot with the automatic hits their shoulder, there is a good chance that another bullet hit them in neck.

You're a loving moron. If a criminal breaks into your house, you have better luck of killing them if you have an automatic weapon. The recoil would cause you to drop it, but if you held that trigger for longer than 2 seconds, there is a good chance you landed a shot on them.

In a number of states shooting to kill, regardless of what they are doing or where they are, is considered a felony.

Thus, making guns publicly available to everyone will just make people who don't want them/can't have them even more defenseless against criminals who can now legally obtain them and have them without suspicion. At least if they obtain weapons illegally they have to conceal it and there is a higher risk for them to be caught before they do any harmful action.

you would also be more likely to kill a family member that way, also if you cant hit someone breaking into your house with a semiautomatic rifle you should get your eyes checked.

You're not going to instantly drop to the floor and die, if you're in a gun fight with someone else, adrenaline is pumping through your body, there is no thought of flight but only fight, you probably wouldn't even notice your first wound if it's in the arm or somewhere like that.

Did you say something about people with bad aim? In the event of some big scary mother loving bursting into your house and robbing stuff and moving around pretty damn fast, the anxiety and adrenaline certainly won't help you take a moving target with a semi-automatic. It would be ALOT loving EASIER if you had an automatic.

I think assault rifles should be available to anyone who has no criminal record and is completely sane.
if everyone except crazy people had a gun the world would be safer because no criminal would be brave enough to rob an armed person.
