you know about that light thing you can use? what about giving it a look? how about making it look and shape like a flash light, and you can like aim the light at different stuff?

Impossible, been discussed a lot, light cannot be directed like that

you say everything is impossible! have anyone has ever tried it yet before you go saying it's impossible?

It's been discussed, NOT POSSIBLE. I'm not just saying it from my experience, many have suggested directed light, the closest anyone got was an emitter that looked like light but sucked.

actauly IT IS possible
but it would crash and make your com blow up :D

And the flames would be so intense, you'd explode from expanding water vapor in your body from the heat.

It's just because the Torque engine sucks so much balls it can't handle anything decent.

*cough*i did it in my force lightning
although the thing is tat it only makes a "column" of light as opposed the the conic spread you would get from a flashlight

What about having it create the light in your hand if it is not there and then move it move it to the collision point while 'firing' it every 100-or-so milliseconds? It should constantly be moved to where you aim it and then possibly be made to delete if not firing.

What about being able to move your light like a brick and being able to use it as a temporary lamp, or to confuse people in DMs?

Yeah I think the way to go is a small radius light fired at the player's cursor every 100ms.

That way it can even be server-side as an item if you want.

Seems that would lag, light objects being fired, the engine having to calculate the lighting on the bricks as it is fired.....

You better believe it.  :cookieMonster:

the only problem with firing light objects every 100ms is that it would cause so much lag and then make it impractical...

you wouldnt have to actually fire the light itself. just fire an invisible projectile and wherever it collides place a light.
