THE BEST WEAPON CHOICE?

Bow & Arrow - I like to sneak around and kill from afar!
Melee - Stealth and Mage characters are just wimps. Real men use swords!
Magic - Both Sword and Bow are rendered useless against my spells!

Even though Bethesda didn't make Fallout New Vegas, and only published it (because Obsidian Entertainment made it) everyone on the Skyrim forums says that Bethesda screwed up on FNV and are going to do some stupid things in Skyrim that they did in New Vegas like Invisible walls.

the skyrim forums whine about everything i go there every day so i would know

People over their complain a lot that the game is going to get postponed. BUt I really can't foresee this happening. I'm pretty sure they'd release with tons of bugs before they'd push the release back.

They really want that 11-11-11 release date.

I just went there for the first time today and i'm not going back

Tell me an Elder Scrolls game that DOESN'T have bugs and glitches.
It's physically impossible to have that game bug/glitch free.

They're just making it as mind boggling amazing as they can, and getting rid of any really game breaking glitches.

Wait what?

As much as I was upset about Fallout: NV, I know it wasnt Bethesda's fault.

Some people are just really stupid.

What I hope they're going to do is incorporate insurpassable natural barriers into the game(Like mountains, Skyrim seems to have a lot of those) to act as the border between Skyrim and surrounding provinces.
Oblivion had mountains between Cyrodiil and Skyrim, but you could get over these and run into an invisible wall saying "You can't go that way. Turn back."

And in Fallout 3 there weren't many natural barriers you could make into invisible walls. Although it'd certainly make for a more natural-looking map than a perfect square.

Fallout NV I can imagine they'd have used some of the Rockies as a barrier, but I haven't played it so I don't know.

Invisible walls suck, and I don't like 'em.

However, if they do incorporate invisible walls, I'd like to stand in a certain point in Oblivion right on the border between Cyrodiil and Skyrim, and then in Skyrim stand in the very same place on the same border.

But then, with the assassination of both the emporer and his successor in Oblivion, who knows. A lot can happen in 200 years, a lot of political crap and border changes. Maybe Skyrim will be a lot bigger than we saw it during the Third Empire.

And also, Martin's death ushers in a new era. Why doesn't your calendar start with 4E0 when the game ends?

Will it be 4E200 when Skyrim begins?

Will we get to see Bruma again because Skyrim has taken it?

Shortly into the Fourth Era, Red Mountain erupts and destroys Vvardenfell. Does that mean we'll see a lot of Dunmer refugees?
And also, Titus Mede supposedly crowns himself Emporer after taking over the Imperial City some time into the Fourth Era. Is he the one who's murdered and sets off this civil war among the citizens of Skyrim? Has Skyrim seceded and had its own king assassinated?
That'd be an awful lot like Oblivion.
Why don't they make your character, the last of the Dragonborn, emporer? He is, after all, the Dragonborn.
Will you be king after defeating Alduin, if you even have to kill him?
I've never seen much of a boss battle in Bethesda games, mainly just verbal confrontations with an easy-to-kill enemy. Very thrilling.
Will they never have the chance to have an emporer again after the Amulet of Kings' destruction? Is that just it?
You gotta feel sorry for the Empire.

I think I just nerdgasm'd.

Remember that Skyrim is 200 years after Oblivion, So i dont think that the death of the emperor and Martin will be a big deal. Also remember that the game starts with you walking to your execution, so I doubt there will be much chance of us becoming "emperor"

Now that I think about it, having us start out being led to our execution could introduce us to a lot of cool possibilitys, like escaping.

I'd also like to hear more about the guilds. As far as I know, there is going to be The Dark Brotherhood, The Mages Guild, and the Fighters Guild. I hope in Skyrim they put more effort into guilds. I mean, they were my favorite part of Oblivion, being able to become leader of the guilds and have people follow you around and such was a lot of fun for me.

I have another question for everyone. Have you guys seen the art for some of the races? Like the Khajiit for example, it seems to me like some of races look different, or is it just me?

Will we get to see Bruma again because Skyrim has taken it?
Oblivion was in Tamriel.
Tamriel is a completely different province, Skyrim takes place in Skyrim.

Dont you mean Cyrodiil? Tamriel is the "Whole world" of the elderscrolls.

As I look at the map, it looks like maybe we will be able to see Bruma from the lowest point of skyrim.

There will be the College of Winterhold to act as a Mage's Guild, some name for the Fighter's Guild that I can't remember, I think it was the "Guardians" or something.
And there will be the Dark Brotherhood and the Thieves' Guild. Same as before.

Dude. Smaller map please.
And it's also the planet Nirn on which the Elder Scrolls is set, Tamriel is a continent on Nirn.
Like Akavir, Atmora, and Yokuda.

Yeah. Im not exactly sure what they're calling them this time around.

But i hope theres nothing like the Arcane University in Skyrim. I know that its not hard to advance to that level, but i think its stupid that we couldnt access the weapon enchants and spell creators until we finished the quests.

I hope the Dark Brotherhood is fun aswell. Soo much fun potential.

Oh hell, I never knew that.
This changes a lot for me.

I've never been bored with a quest in which I have to sneak into a building to kill somebody. I could do Valen Dreth's assassination over and over again. So fun.

I want a game that takes place in Akavir, such as the new empire invading the area.

Also, a lot of the townsfolk in Oblivion spoke of trouble in the Summerset Isles. I would have expected 5 to take place there and not Skyrim.

Also, the Dark Brotherhood isn't confirmed, only the thieves guild.
I think that there will be plenty of freelancing assassin quests.

Ikr. The Dark Brotherhood has always been my favorite Guild.
To bad it was so short in Oblivion.

Yeah. I was hoping for it to take place in Summerset aswell.

Does anyone know how guards will work? I hope they're not like in Oblivion where they could tell if you killed someone from miles away :(
Thank god for that PC mod.
