THE BEST WEAPON CHOICE?

Bow & Arrow - I like to sneak around and kill from afar!
Melee - Stealth and Mage characters are just wimps. Real men use swords!
Magic - Both Sword and Bow are rendered useless against my spells!

I hate the lockpocking skill. It's useless.

I just press that one button and it unlocks by itself.

I wonder if Skyrim will make it like Fallout 3, so you can't pick harder locks if your level is too low.

I like the fallout lockpicking system. It makes more sense and is more fun.

The problem with playing as a thief is that most of the armour that protects you will make you more cumbersome.
Good luck sneaking up on a dragon and shoving daggers in his eyes.

Hack n slash everything.

The thing about being a thief is that you will, for the most part, be making sneak attacks and you won't be putting yourself in situations in which you'd take damage.

Good point, though it depends if you play as an archer thief, or dagger thief.

Sure the income from loot is good, and the speed helps dodge and chase targets, but the damage output can be really stuffty if you've already been spotted. Charging blindly works equally as well as a mage or warrior.

I play as both thiefs.

But I prefer using my bow.

Archery is fun as hell.
Daggery(that's a word now) is fun as hell.
One deals higher crit damage from the other, at the expense of putting yourself in more danger than you would with the other.

I play archer/dagger thief. Dagger when need be, archer most of the time.

Skyrim is going to be my first Elder Scrolls game, because frankly it's the first one that appealed to me.

I'm really aiming towards being a thief, but I have a question. o: When you guys are talking about Archer Thieves and Dagger Thieves, do you mean you can only be one or the other? Or can you carry both weapons and use them at your will?

You can do whatever you want.
THey just say that because that's generally the only 2 ways you would be playing a stealthy character and most people stick with one thing.

You can literally do anything and your character isn't forced to only have like 1 type of weapon

That's loving amazing

Watch some videos, Todd Howard is really excited about the game's "be what you want to be rather than define your character at the start of the game" aspect.
