Made by the developers of Black, a game for the PS2 and original XBOX which was one of the few games of it's time to put an emphasis on destruction.
For you nostalgiacigarettes, it has a lot of features from older games.
What is Bodycount? Bodycount is a first-person shooter which puts a gun in your hands and lets you loose on missions around the world. Bodycount is designed to be fast, frenzied, and filled with bullets. The developers want to bring the feel of an arcade into the console shooter experience, so expect quick action and even quicker rewards.
Is there a story, or just tons of shooting? The story of Bodycount is designed to contextualize the action. You're an agent of the Network and you're hunting down Targets. That's really all there is to it. If you want a sweeping narrative that ponders mankind's existence in this deep, dark space, look elsewhere.
What kind of guns do I get? We don't have a full list of guns now but all the usual suspects will be around, including various types of rifles, shotguns, grenades, and more. As long as it shoots bullets and can take out your Targets, it's probably going to be in Bodycount.
What makes Bodycount special? Your bullets. The developers want to make your bullets affect everything they hit. You can demolish crates, destroy cover, and tear right through walls; you can even make your own doors by blowing through the environment. Combine this destructive element with Bodycount's overall style and you get a pretty slick concept.
Do I get anything for causing all this chaos? Yes you do. Every kill in Bodycount earns you Intel. This normal grade Intel can be used to activate upgrades. If you manage to perform a skill kill (headshots, silent kills, etc.) higher-value Intel will be earned. By chaining kills together you'll get an even better reward.
How do I use Intel? At the bottom of the screen you have access to the OSB (Operative Support Button). You can activate a variety of special upgrades by spending the Intel you've collected. For example, you can gain temporary invulnerability, enhance your weapons with explosive rounds, and even call in an airstrike.
What kind of modes does Bodycount have? Besides the expected single-player campaign, there's a Bodycount mode that tasks you with replaying stages for higher scores. There is also co-op support and competitive multiplayer.
What's the Bodycount release date? Bodycount is scheduled to launch this year for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
