Borderlands free on PSN?

I was surfing on PSN Store, looking for something to spend $20 on, and I was thinking of Borderlands. Sadly, I was ten bucks short, and I accidentally clicked Borderlands (not purchase, just going into the descriptions and stuff), and it said that we purchased it and that we can play it. On this side, I have never bought anything, not even enter credit card info, because we buy our games from the store. So is it a promotional thing or what?

It might be the demo.
My little brother downloaded the demo and all it was, was Borderlands but you could only play for a short amount of time.
