Author Topic: Arma2 Rendering glitch.  (Read 1313 times)

I have had a problem with my Arma2, it encounters a glitch which messes up the models, I've run it on every setting, and yes my computer is very capable of running this, I have Arma2 Operation arrowhead which is just as good as this graphic/detail wise and it does not occur. I've reinstalled, verifying integrity of game cache, adding -winxp to the launch properties, and none work. I've been searching for about 2-3 weeks now, and I need help, I can't find a solution, and they cause unplayable lag. Here are 2 pictures of the error:

Whoops too big, help with resizing please?
As you can see, it is a rendering glitch. It only happens after maybe 1-3 hours, or whenever you get helicopters in the Capture the island gamemode, where you build a base, get soldiers for your squad, and capture cities.
I used to fix it by changing anything in the video options that make it re render the game, but now that's not working. So please, if you've encountered this issue and fixed it, please tell me how to fix it.

ive had weird stuff like this happen because my GPU was overheating. the case i had at the time had horrible airflow, it was a dell i upgraded and it only had 1 fan that really only cooled the cpu.

idk though this doesnt really sound like overheating.

Yeah, it's not really overheating, it has a built in fan for the video card, plus the fan for the computer, never had the gpu overheat.
Plus I can run OA fine, which is equal if not more graphic/detail intensive than arma2.

you're lucky you can even run arma 2 properly.

er yeah i guess technically i had 2 fans in the dell case, one small one on my gpu (5570) and one on the cpu. still had really bad airflow though.

Oh, because this fan is huge.

I'd post this on the Bohemia interactive forums if I were you. They know more about this game then we do for sure. Also yeah ArmA II has a stuff ton of glitches and bugs. I've had the same problem you had but it would only last for a few seconds and then would fix itself. :)
