Author Topic: virus is neutralized  (Read 4342 times)

I download random shady files all the time.
I don't have "real" antivirus software I have Norton. lololol.

Actually it seems like it does a pretty good job.

BitDefender goes as low as $29.95
Do I look like I'd have an extra $30?

I have the full version of McAfee

lol waste of money it seems

I got a virus at 8AM in the morning while getting bored & browsing.
It was a rogue, first contact with one, that computer's first virus in 5 years.
I didn't get infected for many reasons as i closed it ASAP

I think MSE works and does it's job well. I haven't had any problems with my computer since MSE was intalled. Much better than that McAfee my computer was preloaded with (even though it was effectively the full version, it was still a limited 1 year trial). McAfee used up WAY too much of my processing power and was annoying as heck to use. It was annoying to get rid of too; the uninstaller was all like "WHY U NO LIEK ME ANYMOREZ".

What's the difference?  Malwarebytes isn't free, but the demo does most of the stuff a 'real' antivirus does.
What I mean't by "free stuff" was AV software like AVG, Avast!, Avira.

I'm subscribed to Norton.
Hope its doing you good. It didn't for me.

I didn't mean buy it all together. Ya know, save up over time.

nod 32 for the loving win

Try scanning it with MalwareBytes (An anti Malware program)
then Avira (Yes i mean the one with the umbrella)
Never run the programs at the same time...

EDIT! changed "anti virus" to anti malware...

Oh.  AVG works fine, imo.

Malwarebyte's is a Anti-Malware program, not to be confused with an anti-virus.

It's good. I admit, it has it's flaws from time to time, but it works fine.

I had McAfee for a year

Never used it, not worth my money

I have Kaspersky and it thinks all my games are trojans or keyloggers, but it does a good job. McAfee bugs me to do a scan non-stop and is really annoying.

I dumped Norton once it said Norton.exe is hazardous software because that is just plain dumb.

dont download research when you're tired :V
