Mark Duggan, 29, was in a car being followed by police during a covert operation on Thursday.

But Duggan, a known offender from London’s notorious Broadwater Farm Estate, became aware that he was being followed and opened fire on the officers.

He shot the officer from Scotland Yard’s elite firearms squad CO19 in the side of his chest with a handgun.

The bullet lodged in the police radio that the undercover officer was carrying in a side pocket.
Armed officers shot the gunman dead seconds later.

I've always though being in a riot would be fun.

Doesn't sound too fun if you're not one of the hoodlums who isn't getting away with their rampage.

It's hardly fun to be a police officer under attack from the rioting scum and firebombs, nor is it fun to be a local person who is having their front door smashed in and their possesions stolen or their shops burgaled.
Nor is it anyfun for the hoodlums who join in and then get beaten down by police, or killed or maimed by other hoodlums or manage to kill/dangerously hurt themselves in their rampage.


As far as I'm concerned, the police should just bring in rows of gunmen and shoot down the rioters in front of them.
That'd put a bloody quick end to it.
Can't say it's against their human rights. You lost those when you violently smashed, stole and attacked thousands of people and property.

See in the US we have like, beanbags and canisters of noxious gas that disperse violent riots like immediately. You guys are behind the times.
