Author Topic: Whats a good computer fan?  (Read 2098 times)

Im asking for recommendations on computer fans because mine cant get to the required rpm to cool my computer (although it might help if I clean out the dust) But I am still wanting a better fan to cool my system which my specs are

Dell presicion 650 workstation

160gb hardrive
Nvidia fx 500/600 PCI graphics
cisco am10#2 wifi connector
2.80 gh proccesor

My main reason of getting a new fan would be to cool my graphics it gets so hot that it messes up badely.

No suggestions? I really need one.

Um, your GPU should come with an adequate heatsink/fan.
If it doesn't, you have a big problem.

Nah its just that my graphics card runs hot because im running large graphics games with a small card (128 mb of space) aside from that the room its in is hotter than crap durring the day.

It's moreso the fact that you're running games with a business graphics card. They make them separately for a reason.

I run games with a Business graphics card and it can run Just Cause 2 fine.

I have used this card for the last 5 years its a great card just over heats to easy as of now.

It's really not a great card. :P

The fan will be worth more than the card.

The best thing to do would be to update your graphics cards although I don't there's much of an upgrade to do because of your other specs. You also can't just slap a fan onto a graphics card. You need to know the size and you need to know if you have any open fan headers. I suppose you could use a molex adapter, but imo it's not even worth doing.

Its a great card when the second greatest graphics card here is a old 32 mb card.

That will not fit on his card. His card is an ancient business graphics card. I'm doubtful the problem is actually heat. I don't see this thing generating much heat at all.

I'm not sure how that one works because I don't have it. I have the other one I linked.

The card burnt me it generated alot of heat.
I will agree on the "ancient business graphics card" The driver for it was made in 2004. I can still run Gmod almost at full blast I just cant use shader.
