It's been mentioned before I think, but death metal logo's are designed to be barely readable. Keyword BARELY. You can't read OP's logo at all, even if you know what it means.
As for the quality of the metal, death metal isn't supposed to sound pretty, and personally I don't like that subgenre of metal because it's just too much deep growling and not enough melody. Metalcore, and stuff like that is my favorite because amongst the screaming is a kick-ass melodic chorus. It makes the screaming seem harder, and the screaming makes the singing sound more melodic. If you have all of one or the other, it's just too much of one singing style.
Isn't Metallica metal? Their logo is readable.
They're heavy metal, which is a genre that pretty much only existed in the late 80's and 90's, but either way it has a completely different sound. Death metal ≠ heavy metal
