Author Topic: Dwarf Fortress Megathread! - Necro'd enough to count as a vampire  (Read 133818 times)

God, everyone is asking me to kill vampires...

Okay, he must have done something to elves that I haven't noticed because I've only played dwarves and humans since the last update. They never start with food or water and always start with wooden weapons.

They used to sometimes start with wooden weapons, but sometimes with real ones too.

Were Elves OP or anything like that?

No. They're just tree hugging neanderthals.

What does it mean when people blink in adventure mode?

They are important. Like lords, commanders, cult leaders, or foes who call you out. It can also mean that they are a quest target I think.

They have the highest speed, which is one of the most important stats in the late game. And stats are capped at double what you start. So elves have the highest late game potential.

So I'm in an interesting position. I can't grasp anything anymore due to permanent nerve damage. Should I give up?

Either become a legendary kicker and make the world kneel to your iron boot of death and destruction or give up now. Biting is also pretty awesome. I don't think you need graspers to throw, either, and pebbles can shatter skulls if you're very skilled.

Alright, time to get training I suppose.

Edit: Oh, things are looking better now. One of my hands was a bit mangled but it healed up. So now I have use of one hand.

...Now I have to try and find a decent sword.

I've always wanted to make a character that was based solely around unarmed combat, but the luck involved in getting anyway is too much.

Needs more BL Forums succession game.

The different types of items are confusing me...
Do different types of swords do more damage? Like is a silver sword better than an iron sword? I looked on the wiki but it didn't really have anything about damage.

It's been a long time since I've played this, but Gnomoria made me want to play it again.
Quick question, how do you set orders for workshops now?
