Author Topic: Sketchup OBJ exporter  (Read 4170 times)

with sketchup i can model okay, so this is pretty neat even though you can do this already with a few extra steps

Tom

Sketchup isn't really a modeling program. It's like a 3d architectural drawing program, and it creates crappy models for Blockland.

milkshape is a crappy program but people use it fine for blockland. what you get out depends on what you put in. milkshape compared to blender sucks, but people still make good stuff with it.

I love you.

EDIT: Milkshape also costs money, it was originally for HL1, and it creates low-poly, crappy models, unless you are an amazing modeler.

Most Blockland models are supposed to be low-poly buth still have a sufficient amount of detail. MilkShape manages to pull this off if in the right hands.

I've been searching for this for awhile.

Heh.

How do you even install the thing?

Put it into plugins, it doesn't get much simpler.

It works with Sketchup 8, right? I installed it and it doesnt let me export an obj.
