What is a Demoknight?

A Demoknight is a Demoman in Team Fortress 2 that uses only Swords and charges at enemies, they seem to be the most picked loadouts for the Demoman and are the most common in servers (I found 5 Demoknights in one match yesterday).

This all seemed to start when valve gave the Demoman the Eyelander and Chargin Targe, at the time I thought it was pretty cool and funny weapon for the Demoman to use, and it was also fun charging into people with a sword while bullets and piss jars rained down upon you.

For a while this was fun until Valve started to give more Melee weapons to the Demoman making him seem less of a "demo" and more of a Swordsman.

I really hate that Valve constantly kept giving the Demoman more melee weapons when his actual role is to work with explosives, I'd be fine with the Eyelander and Chargin targe but this seems a bit rediculous seeing a majority of Demoman players become Demoknights and stuffing him with Melee weapons.

Valve, stop with the swords, give us some more explosive stuff like a new launcher or stickybomb.

My question is: What do you think about the Demoknights?

Read this first:
i think he's complaining that they're everywhere and it seems like the only way anyone plays demoman nowadays besides new people with no weapons besides defaults

there are only so many ways to lob grenades without keeping them spammy

you are failing to hit a relatively large target moving in a mostly-straight line with a variety of fully automatic weapons, several that do hilarious knockback and at least one that lets you run out of the way faster

there is no excuse for this bar being a medic or a scout and even then you can still just move. if you don't hear him coming, that's your problem

i use the force of nature or nascha (?) to kill 'em

i don't think he's complaining about trying to kill them

This.

i pretty much just move out of the way or shift my focus to them before i get hit in the face by their GIANT, EASILY NOTICED SWORD

or shoot them in the shins with a rocket launcher / grenade launcher as the case may be

i use the force of nature or nascha (?) to kill 'em
I use the pyro's airblast.

I got a 7 killstreak with only the bottle defending a control point. Then I went over to a friendly dispenser, since I had 10 health

Both of you missed the point.

it's not really a poison, it's an alternate playstyle that most idiots feel competant using

real demomen exist it's just that you're not looking at them and are paying more attention to the guys screaming at the top of their lungs and hitting you in the face with pointy metal death

That is true but Im just mad at valve for stuffing the Demoman's loadout with swords.

would YOU like to come up with new and creative ways to make grenades fun without being hilariously overpowered / incredibly unsatisfying?

because i've tried

it's not loving easy

i like the swords because it's just one of those things that are diffrent

a grenade launcher that explodes on impact (like the loch n load, but instead of shattering it explodes)
but has one less grenade

a sticky bomb that... uh, i dont know

a bottle that you can drink out of that when you drink out of it, it increases your damage but your vision gets messed up (think of the drugs feature of RTD)

I always wanted a drinkable bottle :I

Bagpipe sticky thingy?

They're way better than the tons of stuff snipers and spies that only play the classes because they want instant kills.
