"You're an interesting person, you know that?"

Deciding to head off, me, my aunt and my brother get into my aunt's suburban to follow Vegetarian back to the shelter.

"I can't keep this from them... not even if I have one... It's down in the sewers... they'll never find it... just don't let the pressure make you crack..."

"Hmm? I suppose they're going to follow me." I looked at the military person. "There are other survivors if you want to meet them."

"...Fine." I got into that survivor's car.

I started the Rover back up and jumped into the large hole I had made earlier.
I floored it to get back to the camp.

I hit the horn, signaling it was time to leave. I slowly put pressure on the gas pedal, now a little nervous with a soldier next to me and a family following me.

With my aunt driving the car and my little brother sitting in the back seat, I try to reach my parent's phone via blackberry.

"I don't think they're going to pick up..", my aunt said.

When we were about a mile out of the city, I asked, "What's a soldier doing out here alone, anyway?" I said, bracing to be yelled at again.

"One - you're too young to drive, probably. Two - that's classified, I may not tell you why I'm out here. Three - I'm out here because my helicopter crashed when I was coming to set a charge in a powerplant in San-Fran."

I skid to a stop and entered the camp, now with a wide open door.
It was empty, nobody left.
I headed for the center of town.
I pushed the fire fountain away and started digging at the dirt beneath it.
I found a chest.
I grabbed it and turned around to head back to the Rover, but instead, the medicine man.
"Max, do you have any idea what you've done?"
"No"
"Give me that, so I may cure my disease..."
"NO!"
"Just hand it over..."
I dashed at him, knocked him over, making his mask fall off, and ran to the Rover.
I hopped in and locked the doors, just to have the medicine man with his tumor eye staring at me.
"GIVE IT TO ME!" he shouted as he pulled up his sleeve, revealing a tumor ridden arm.
He pulled it back to smash it into the window, but I floored it just in time, leaving him in the dust.
Rover leaped out of the hole and ran up to the house.
"I got it..." I gasped.

"Maybe I am... I'm the oldest in our little group, though." I decided not to ask anything else. "We're only about a mile away now." The scenery was becoming increasingly less city-like and more country-ish.

"..You're what, fourteen? And you're the oldest in your group? How the forget are you guys alive?"

"Sunglasses must fall" I mumbled.
My sunglasses fell off my face and into my hands.
I tucked them into the glove compartment.
"Now, if I remember correctly..." I said, messing with the combo lock on the chest.

"Yeah, fourteen. Yeah, I'm the oldest. We're alive because... actually, that's a good question." I pulled up to a wood house that was covered in metal fencing and the like. "Here we are." I said, stopping the car.
