Author Topic: Save Notifier  (Read 1141 times)

I don't give a rat's ass if someone wants to save a build I made on my server. Great, so you like my build.
I'd just like to know who saved it.

Possible? I know it is, because a friend has it (can't ask it from him. Haven't seen him in a while). Pretty much just notifies when someone starts saving.

Already made? Like the idea?

Then I know who's ass I need to ban when someone saves my builds :D

That kinda defies the point of servers, but sure. If your against that sort of thing.

I'm not sure if this is entirely possible. I know the client sends a request to the server for events/brick ownership, but I'm not sure if its a serverCmd or just some engine side stuff

Enjoy having your key deactivated if someone dramas you for it and Badspot sees it.

For not letting someone saving my build?

I want people playing on my server using the build, not save it and using it for themselves and taking the credit. If they want my build, they should ask. I would gladly allow players to save if I still recive credit.

I'm not going to entirely rule out the possibly that you're friend is simply lying.
If this was possible, it would only work if the client had to request additional brick info from the server in order to save (such as events or brick ownership). If the client unchecked both of these, saving would be undetectable.

The proof I can give you is this:

I was on his server working on some spaceships, I saved twice while he wasn't there (wasn't stealing, just frequent saving). When he came back he said this. "Allright, let's see who saved in the server" and he saw that I saved twice. I believe it.

Besides he has alot of other "Black market" mods and add-ons.

I just tested it out of curiosity.
I could easily (in a few minutes) make an add-on that notifies you if a client saves with 'Save Wrench Events' enabled. Any other type of saving is not able to be detected.

But I'm not going to because Blockland doesn't need the stuff that this could, and would, be used for, such as

Yes.

And to anyone else who's thinking of figuring it out and doing it,

If you start doing gay ice cream to break my game, I'm going to start banning you from the master server.  This is a war you don't want to start because I'm the only one with nukes.

... Thanks for nothing?

You just got to live with the fact that people can save and there is nothing you can do to prevent them.

Did you even read what I posted?
