Author Topic: Aeschylus' Minecraft Server  (Read 2275 times)

seems like you're having troubles

did you port forward? seems like a dumb question but a lot of people trying to host for whatever game seem to miss this very important step

also is the port you forwarded (if you did/when you do) the same as the port your minecraft server is being hosted on?

are you joining the server using localhost?

if you answered yes to all 3 of these I have no idea where you went wrong, you likely messed up port forwarding

Isn't 28000 the port for Blockland?

yes, I port forwarded, and I had my dad help me out just incase I did anything wrong ( I ended up doing it all right myself either way, and my dad only got in the way ). I used the tutorial here. I dont want anyone saying "BUT THATS FOR BLOCKLAND FAFSFAS" because it works for anything. it's port forwarding. that's for anything, not just Blockland.

EDIT: stuff I guess I'll go change the port to the default Minecraft port

EDIT2: ok port is changed. lets try it again, I'll post when its up

Pro tip when hosting a server.
Make sure it works, and have a decent amount of knowledge of what you are doing, prior to making a topic.
I can't take your server serious if you've got a page and a half of "OMG NO WORK Y NAWT?"
Also, Minecraft's port is 25565, and I don't suggest you edit that in the properties unless you know what you are doing.

I know what I'm doing, I was half asleep the entire time, even when I was port forwarding. I didnt want to go to sleep at the cost of being cranky. and I know what I was doing with properties, too. I can clearly read, the properties isnt at all complicated.

also, server is up damnit

Im gonna go look up how to install mods and get essentials.

updated OP. running a Bukkit server now. only plugin for now is essentials.

Aesc, get back on your server and get the spawn area out of my farm

I have OwnBlocks, Lockette, and Essentials so far.
