I can't believe it.

Someone on the forums actually downgraded.

I'm taking pictures of this, this is loving gold lol.
:D

Hey, now you're almost modern.
But having VRAM won't make games max out on Über settings.

I can't believe it.

i'm sorry for not knowing things as well as you, please make fun of me.
because that's probably the reason you have few friends in life

also it's slightly funny because looking through the specifications between the two cards, the one i'm using now has more power and VRAM and write rate.
The only thing better about the 8500GT is that the Geforce 8500GT uses 10w more, which generates a fraction of heat for me to stay warm in winter.

There's a lot more than watt usage and VRAM specs, Feep.
There's shader clock, vcore, core clock, stream processing units, DirectX level, pixel shader and more.
The 8500 is better card.
I used to have 8400, it was my first graphics card, but it sucked.

i checked out both the stats, and im pretty sure this is not the same card you are thinking of, it has a faster clock for everything

Clock speeds are not everything (See: Pentium IV), the amount of cores and shaders is more important as well as the memory bus width. You should've consulted someone before upgrading.

As well as just plain architecture of the cores.

Memory amount is the minimum memory it will have and clock rates will very.

However you literally downgraded one graphics card, not to mention the part where you think I'm forever alone or something is pretty unrelated to the fact that you downgraded a card.

I didn't say you are forever alone, I just said that making fun of people for not knowing something is a definite way to get ahead in life.

True, though it should be mostly the same within the same graphics card family.

well i just found out why my computer got BSOD everytime i watched a youtube video previously, i went back to my 8500GT to test out the difference and it has a corrupt core or something forgeted up, and now it doesn't even register the graphics card anymore.

forget.

Does it feel fun to just have downgraded your graphics card, without being able to switch back? :cookieMonster:

Technically they are equal except the one 8400GS has more VRAM but 1mb slower write rate

should've gotten a gtx 5##

should've gotten a gtx 5##
Didn't have a choice, dad would only grab me something under 30$
