New computer?

So i complain to my parents a lot about my computer, and offered to buy one with my own money to my mother...

So I was working on an important project for english when my computer crashed and I lost the file...I was extremely upset as it took me many hours of work.

So after I got home from a horrible day at school of not having the project my dad said, what have you done to your computer to make it so horrible..I said nothing. All i have on it is one game (just installed Ubuntu) So he offered to give me a 3000$ budget for a PC...but I have to customize it on Dell.com....but still...Oh my gawd, i was planning on buying a 600$ computer. Though i only plan to buy a 1,300$ computer with this budget.

though i could easily build one or find an amazing one on newegg or yes, even an HP. my dad doesn't trust that id make the right choice. So he chose his favorite DELL. But i can still customize every part of it besides the case.

I want an HP haha, but i found one the same on dell with blue ray player...but Hp has always been good to me in the past..all of my computers have been HP.

He'd be making the biggest mistake. The quality of the parts is sub-par and they overcharge a bit.
You can get an amazing computer from other companies, such as ibuypower, cyberpower, or even Acer and HP.

Get something from Gateway. Most of their computer are relatively cheap(Er), but can offer the same amount of power from some fancier computer $200 more.

What model of dell is he allowing you to customize? Do you think he would let you put in your own graphics card?

Tell him to go read up on other brands instead of being spoonfed opinions from TV commercials.

"dood he got a dell" is not a valid reason to buy a Dell.

HP is literally dead. They had a confrence call saying all their hardware (phones, pc's, etc.) will be discontinued very soon.

Dell is quite nice, but a guy like me wants all this new tech not on manufactured PC's.

I'm building my new one, so yeah.
