Would you be so kind as to lecture me on what the difference between Gundam and Mechwarrior is?

Battletech (mechwarrior is just the video games) is a US adaptation of giant robot fights that takes a different (I hesitate to say realistic) approach. In fact, Battletech was originally based off of animes like Macross, but later went more in its' own direction. 'Mechs are treated more like vehicles than what I've seen from eastern mecha. They aren't "special" or anything, they're just war machines. Furthermore, 'mechs are often not nearly as human-looking as gundam suits or whatever they're called (with some notable exceptions)

They can't really compare because the only real similarities they have is that they're about giant robots. Battletech vs. Gundam arguments are just stupid.

actually *snort*, I was wrong regarding the galaxy sized mech, it wasn't really a mech, it was the manifestation of spiral energy in the form of a loving massive mech the defies the basic laws of the universe

the mech was made during a gigantic war with another space civilization (anti-spirals), it was serving as the flagship of the spiral alliance
keep in mind it had two forms, one was a spaceship, and the other was the mech form
also keep in mind that at this point, earth was a space faring civilization, which means they had access to the materials necessary to construct such a thing
