Guys this is like really serious now. New york is evacuating.
I'm still here.

i'm loving how everyone's boarding up their homes and running around while all us people in NJ are like
"hurricane? what?"
"LETS HAVE A HURRICANE PARTY!"
"yea man!!"

i'm going to one tomorrow too.

Well after poor Gloria died her sister went out for revenge.  Oh did she plan her strike back, she really wanted to hit North Carolina hard right from the east coast to the borders of Tennessee.  She knew it would kill her, but it was worth it... For her sister...  After 20 years of brutal training in the heavens, she decided it was time.  She decided to start in North Africa, so she can really get herself spinning.  She started from a little dust devil, but now she was hitting the Atlantic, dear God was she ravaging everything in her path on her way to North Carolina.  Wait a second... What's this... were her coordinates wrong, was she not heading in the direction of North Carolina.  She wasn't, oh boy was she pulled to the South.  Now she was in the direction of Florida... No she did not want to hit here, no...  Before she knew it she was taking lives by the minute.  Destroying everything its big eye sees.  That was it, this is the end...  She did not avenge her sister in the way she wanted to.  Before she knew it... Katrina died away.  Gone from the humans eye.
Now begins another person's journey.  Hello Irene, for you are now ravaging most of the East coast, having mercy on Florida because she knew that her mother, Katrina, did not want destruction there.

New Yorkers are known for their toughness, yet the news people said that they're very startled by the potential of hurricane Irene

waaawaaaa government propoganda its not serious at all

hey hey stupid you know nothing about hurricanes
i was reading it from my weather site..?

waaawaaaa government propoganda its not serious at all
50+ mph winds are still fairly serious. Not everybody lives in a sturdy home and not everyone lives in safe areas. Wind is the least of some folks' problems. For many, it's flooding. Certainly it isn't as big as the widespread panic is making it out to be (Rarely ever is...), but it is still a hurricane. The government didn't just see a rainstorm coming and start saying "THIS'LL BE GREAT FOR THE ECONOMY". It costs money, resources, and countless people to open up shelters, transportation, and broadcast everything they need to inform the public. If they treated it like a minor issue, they would probably have more troubles on their plate than they do now.

That being said, if everyone treated it reasonably, there would be little issue in the first place and we could just wait, prepared, for this whole thing to blow over, literally and figuratively. But in complete honesty, nature is unpredictable. We won't know how extreme it is until it is upon us.

That also being said, Irene is one more day closer to being here. :D

i live on a hill :D
