I think the most important question is, where the hell did you get a grand?
Worked short-term for a software company doing internal and backend stuff with Java.

I wouldn't waste it on upgrading your PC. It doesn't seem worth it. If you really wanted to upgrade it. just upgrade your GPU everything else seems fine to me.

I would spend your money on other stuff, maybe games? Gift games to people if you like charity, lol. Maybe buy some cool gadgets like uber laser pointer or uber bright flash light that can cook eggs. :)
You've got a point... Time to look for an epic laser pointer and other awesome stuff.

If I do get an upgrade, I think I may do like you say - replace the 500gb and 250gb drive with a ~2000GB drive. The reviews on the 3000GB drives seem to be saying that such large HDs have some problems, so I think i'll stick with 1tb-2tb HDs for now, at least until the technology is perfected.

2 x 1TB is usually better than a 2TB (and usually cheaper)

forget harddrives that thing's badass

make sure it's legal where you live though lol

Powerful laser pointers and laser pointers in general could get boring fast. Also the powerful one's will hurt your eyes even when you're just looking at it shine on the ground. You have to wear like protective glasses. Get like a telescope, or maybe a motorized scooter instead.

BTW states are strict about powerful laser pointers.

So.
You want to spend $250 max on your computer.
What's your current PSU?
Just wattage won't do. I'll need the model to see how efficient it is.

Agreed, but I don't want a scooter or a telescope. Esp. not a telescope, sounds all NERDY AND stuff :V

dxdiag?
:O

dxdiag doesnt tell you anything about psu.

um. 1 large HD is better then 3 smaller ones.
you gotta power all that stuff you know. and even though a hd isnt much a hog, it adds up.

i say get one 2TB drive.

partition it to;
c: 500gb
d: 1500 gb

Actually having raid 0 gives faster read and write speeds
km

brother it doesn't have to be that, but those were just examples. Like get a cell phone jammer :)
They're illegal but just don't get caught. Get a handheld one, and use it in school to block all the texters in class :D

Hey... I hate to do this, buuuuutttt.....

My stupid school decided to get iPads for everyone (nice toys, but pretty much useless for anything except angry birds, laptops would have been a million times better). Anyways, we're supposed to take notes with them and I really would like a nice little keyboard for it. Anyone seen any dirt cheap ones? I'm not paying a boatload for school stuff...

I can still get an upgrade and w/e, just wanted to know if you guys saw any cool/inexpensive ones.
