Author Topic: Working on a new TDM. Any suggestions?  (Read 1805 times)

I'm working on a new TDM that might be special or unique in some ways.
Basically, the story is that some terrorists went crazy and invaded an office building in the middle of the desert. (I was too lazy to build a backdrop full of skyscrapers and stuff. Deal with it.)

The office building is the default build Building 6. The way the game will work is that in the first stage, SWAT will invade the front door by blowing up a barricade on the front door using a breaching charge. (C4 or something.) There is a capture point in the middle of the floor that, when captured, it will lock up, not allowing the terrorists to recapture it. It will also allow SWAT to use an elevator that will let them reach the second floor and try and capture THAT floor.

As each next floor is captured, terrorists will up the ante with more advanced weapons, more traps, MG positions, and protective sandbags. However, SWAT will also upgrade their weapons. At first, SWAT will have a FAMAS and a Browning HP from GCat's old firearms pack, a baton, and 2 flashbangs. As they reach higher floors, the baton will be replaced with a combat knife, and the flashbangs will be replaced with regular grenades. When SWAT captures a floor, they will be able to spawn on the floor they just captured and continue to attack.

When they finally reach the top floor, that is, the roof, air support will come in, in the form of me and a pilot in a helicopter, with me as the gunner, with Extrude's M134 minigun. And there WILL be bricks pretending to be flaming or smoldering debris throughout the floors, for atmosphere.

tl;dr, i'm making a TDM with some fancy stuff in it. Suggestions?

From the sound of it, your going to have to make a bigger Building 6.

There's 6 floors on building 6, including the roof. I think that's enough. The only major changes I plan on making in building 6 is replacing window bricks with damaging bricks, making a center spot on every floor where the CP will be, and adding elevators.
I'm going to elaborate on the elevators a little more. When the first capture point is captured, the elevator on the first floor will be unlocked and able to move up or down. People on the second floor will have no control over it. This continues for every floor until the top floor.

Have bases where you can't spawn kill.

Have bases where you can't spawn kill.
It is nearly impossible for someone to spawnkill n this game.
The only way they could spawnkill is if someone jumped out of a window or off the roof, went in through the front door, and started shooting.

Still.  If i made a TDM i would have mtn bases'.

Do you expect to find an office building in the middle of the mountains?

1.TF2 Weapons
2.Point Shop System (I like to call it a PSS)
3.Big Castles, Turrets and all that fancy :iceCream:

The stuff you need for a good TDM.

1. I may use this and Gcat's old weapons.
2. I already said that team's weapons upgrade as they capture more points.
3. Terrorists nor cops are going to be able to get their hands on tank turrets, but there WILL be heavy MG turrets.

Because we really need PiSS in order to have fun.

Aniken, why not just use Tier+Tac?
