Author Topic: Junk Jack - Terraria Like iOS Game  (Read 2896 times)

Junk Jack is a game being developed for iOS coming somewhere in September by Pixbits. It has taken inspiration from games like Minecraft and more so, Terraria. So far an iPad version is not in development neither a PC version but they may be coming soon after the inital release date. Also as of now there is more multiplayer but Pixbits say there probably will be someday.

You play as a mining smoker, Junk Jack who mines, builds and crafts things to survive in the open world of your iPhone/iPod Touch!

Looks like yet another stuffty Minecraft/Terraria clone. I don't care if they even label themselves as such a thing, Notch called Minecraft an Infiniminer clone when the only similarity was a block-based digging game.

This has a crafting mechanism, underground jungle, hell caves, underground glowing mushroom forests, and more.
Also, the quests are stuffty. "Go get me a new pet!"

"Oh," I think, "he'll have to find a pond and go fishing or something."

Nope, you just dig in the dirt until a goldfish bowl pops out. Not only is that unrealistic, but more importantly, it's boring and encourages you to grind along digging endlessly until you find what you're looking for.

For clarification, Notch said Minecraft drew inspiration from Infiniminer.

To be fair they had started this before playing Terraria.

It's just an emulator for iPhone. It's not actually for pc.

Hey look, exactly the same as Terraria gameplay. Besides, the only people who wouldn't want this are people without iPods.

Oh ok. I get it now

Not really. Terraria was fun while it lasted, this doesn't seem fun at all if you own the games that inspired it. Also, I have an iPod, but I'm not going to get this game- it doesn't even utilize the touch sensor in any particularly interesting way.

Lol, that wasn't rage.

tl;dr you are a moron.
Says the guy who can't read 3 sentences.

It's about the gameplay, not just the controls.

Looks cool, will get it when it's out.
