Author Topic: Can someone explain the difference between HoN and LoL?  (Read 970 times)

Well a few of my IRL Steam friends invited me to a group chat.
When i finally joined, two of my friends were fighting over which game is better, LoL (League of Legends(Ithink)) and HoN (Heros of Newerth).

ive heard people talk about these games before, but didnt know they were similar until now.

So can someone explain to me, Which one is better, Which one should I get, and what the games are about.
Thanks

Heros of Newerth has Blacksmith, nuff' said.

They're VERY different. They both stem from the WC3 mod Defense of the Ancients, so they have the same basic principle of destroying the enemy structures. However, gameplay mechanics are almost completely different in HoN and LoL.

I cba to explain every single difference, but just know that HoN is closer to DotA (was pretty much a carbon copy on release) while LoL is a little more accessible to new players (but still not very). Both communities are absolute trash.

Chex is right. If you're going to start playing and aren't a strategy game/MOBA elitest play LoL

Otherwise it's your choice.

I don't really like the management of either game, but S2 is really unprofessional.
