Video games are art, a
no.
video games are not art.
they may contain art, such as music or graphics, but the games themselves are not art

doom is art because nobody will ever get a game as right as that ever again.

The nostalgia is clouding your mind, bro.

like hell it is, I can play it today and say it's better than all the mainstream bullstuff churned out by the industry today

That's still just the nostalgia talking. Doom is incredibly simple. If something as simple as it were released today, you'd say it was stuff.

Children are people too!

You have no idea what I'd say. I don't even know what I'd say. The people in the gaming industry aren't even smart enough to try that.

Chances are you'd say it was stuff.

Go play Marathon. It's a game that almost identical to Doom gameplay-wise. I bet you won't think it's as good as Doom, simply because it isn't Doom.

Children are people.
People are able to die in video games.
Therefore, children should be able to die in video games.

Dead space hates children and everything alive in general.

My mom assumes that if there is any violence whatsoever in a game it will cause me to go on a murder spree in real life. Nevertheless i really will think its ironic when a kid who plays a game that portrays children as invincible tries something and kills himself. I think child murder in video games that are made for violence and everything is fine.

Chances are you'd say it was stuff.

marathon is a p good game, but i can't play it because the only windows port gives me motion sickness after 5 minutes

I've played Marathon. It was decent.

How is it wrong for pixels to be "dead?"

Some believe adolescents cannot distinguish between fiction and reality due to the violence in the video games they play. They take a school shooting, assume the adolescent culprit plays a violent video game, and assume said video game is the cause of the child's violent state of mind.

It's like saying oxygen causes people to commit murder because every serial killer breathes it.
