Since my last post, all issues have been fixed. The skybox is much more visible, especially when outside the planet atmosphere. I also got transparency to work, and switched all models over to .x instead of .fbx, which as it turns out is a bad format.

The only issue I have right now is that the atmosphere actually adds realistic atmosphere lighting conditions, which would be good besides the fact that the planet is 90% sunny anyway and so it makes it look like a glowing blue ball.

The picture I took is from the north pole of the spawn planet looking out at it's moon. You can also see some stars & atmospheric glowy stuff.

Next feature is probably going to be directional light, something like a sun instead of just ambient lighting.

lol the lone moon no spouse XD

Yesterday I did a whole lot of stuff, and today I did practically nothing. I'm trying to add a new major feature every day, next up on the list is UI, menus, and graphics settings. I also wasted time making a hot banner.

Oh yeah plus a new thing. You can press Q to slow down your speed, and E to speed up. This doesn't increase your speed in forward/backward velocity, it's just a multiplier. I call it hyperdrive.

Visible atmosphere, hote. Are planets going to have flora/fauna?

Maybe they'll have basic landscape geometry, but no plants / other models.

If anybody has some suggustions for planet generation and how to handle solar systems, or even what the menus will look like, post them.

As you get closer to a planet you see the landscape in more detail? (basic color -> land/ocean -> terrain..)

I have no clue how to generate terrain randomly, so right now it's just solid textures..

The menu/UI is making some good progress. I still need a new .dds starfield skybox though.

Bump because Extrude is good gamebocks.

Use Perlin Noise for terrain.
