I paid the waitress for my meal and left. I decided to stop by the bakery before going home.

As I left, I heard the sound of the next train rolling in and crossed my fingers, hoping it didn't bring trouble.

I walked into the bakery and took in the beautiful smell of warm, fresh bread. I looked through all they had to offer and pondered what to get.

As I exited the train I noticed a woman with a purse enter a bakery. I walked over and looked inside to see her browsing the assorted baked goods. "I can either take some money without her knowing, or... Yes, that one is so much better..." I thought to myself as I entered. I cleared my mind and walked up to her, then tugged on her shirt. "Excuse me, I'm really hungry, but I don't have any money, can you give me some for just a bit of bread?" I asked, trying to look as cute and sad as possible.

I sat, as I usually did, in my "home". It wouldn't be for long. I had make a new life, start over. I decided to go to Heartland, I had enough cash. I made my way to the station through many alleyways. It took much longer, but it was safer. I got on the train, and minutes later, it pulled out, headed for Heartland.

I exit my kitchen and see two people are standing in front of the counter. The child seems to be begging the older girl for money.
God, what an economy today, got kids begging for money just to buy a staple food?
I decide to give the boy some dinner rolls that I had baked four minutes ago. The girl looks up and places an order, which I am happy to serve to her promptly.

I was happy that he gave me the rolls, but now I couldn't get her money... Time for a distraction. I walked over to a shelf riddled with bread. I made sure the man behind the counter couldn't see me. Perfect, he was distracted. With a kick, the shelf toppled over. The woman and the man ran over to look, and when they did, I nabbed a good $10 from the woman's purse. I sprinted out of the store, turned a corner, and continued to run.

I spent 30 bucks on the ride, more than I wanted, but at least I still had money. I stepped out of the train, and saw a bakery. My god, the scents that poured out of that place were amazing. I saw a kid running out, with money in his hand. I was sure it wasn't his. "Hey! Stop running!" I said, sprinting after him.

I looked back to see somebody telling me to stop, so I tucked the money in my pocket and hit the gas. I turned into an alley and up a fire escape. Soon I was on the roof, then I was heading down the stairs into the building. I burst through the back door, scrambled over a fence, and through another alley. I looked back to see if he was there, but I tripped and fell... into a van? The door slammed shut and the driver floored it. "WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?!" I shouted. "We hear you're the best at making drugs" one of the men said. "Why do you say?" I ask. "We want you to make us some drugs, and knock the Salamanders off the market" another explained. "If I don't?" I asked. One of the men had a gun to my head. "I see your point" I said.

I saw the kid fall into a van. Wait- What? A van? Oh jeez, this day just gets weirder. I pulled out my revolver and fired into the tires of the van. One nicked a tire, another blew it out. The rest made holes in the car. I took cover behind a crate. From what I knew- which was alot - they would come out and try to kill me. I quickly reloaded my revolver.

"We're kind of getting shot at!" I said. The driver whipped the car around and made a kamakaze charge for the attacker. This was my chance. As they smashed into a wall, I knew the force would bust the windows, and I was right. I dove out and started sprinting away.

I dove out of the way just in time, but landed pretty hard on my shoulder. I was fine, but it hurt pretty bad. I looked up at the van, seeing that everybody but the kid died in the crash. I got up and shot at the kid's leg. A burst of blood, a scream, a fall. I walked over to him, pulled him up, took the cash and started carrying him, his arm draped over my shoulder. I started walking back to the bakery.
When I got back, the girl was still there. I gave her the $10.00, saying, "I think this is yours." I dropped the kid on a chair.

Hey friend, gunshots are more powerful than you think.

I look to see a man come in with the kid who ran out. Wait, did the kid get shot?

"Oh my god, you just took a kid who was shot and just sat him down here?"
"Well...yeah...basically."
"Bring him to a hospital or something, jeeze, he's got a loving gunshot wound!"

I waver him out, giving the kid another roll before they leave.

As we exited my mood perked up. "Well let's go!" I say. The man looks surprised. "I'm part of a gang and I make the best drugs around, basically I carry the market, and you're surprised I can handle a bullet?" I ask. "Let's just go already!"

I put my gun to his head. "Look kiddo, don't forget with me. I'm not the kind of person who appreciates that kind of thing." I said, scowling. "If you want to live, you aren't going back to that gang, whatever it is."

I quickly ducked into an alley with him, covering his mouth. Damn it! I'm trying to make a new life and I've already shot somebody! I thought. I sighed. He was only going to be trouble. I spun my revolver around, pointing it so that the handle faced down, and hit him on the head with it, knocking him out. I dragged him along, going through alleyways as I was used to. I took shelter within an abandoned building and tended to the kid's wounds. I waited till he woke up.
