I lowered my arms. "Listen, I'm injured, and I need something to help me walk. Besides, I'll keep making drugs, you keep doing your police work, I'll lower the amount of drugs on the island, your job becomes a lot easier! I'm doing us both a good, now let's not fight about this! I'm going to do what I do, because If I didn't, I would be dead..." I explained.

"So by making drugs, you're decreasing the amount we have? Kid, you need to go to school." Peter exited the room and went back to the corner outside the bakery.

"...That was easier then expected. Well now, you get me that cane, and I'll be on my way!" I said. The nurse handed me a cane. "Right, off I go!" I said as I walked out of the hospital. "Now then, where was I?" I said to myself. After a bit of walking I heard the train go by, and waved. I thought of going to the base, but then I realised. "You know, maybe he's right, if the drug market collapsed, everyone would be out of luck with this drug business, and there would be a great drop in the amount... I could help this island!" I thought to myself. "But wait, the gang would kill me... I need a place to cr- HELLO!" I thought. I noticed the Heartland Glassmakers was open, and nobody was currently at the counter. "I could steal something... But better yet..." I thought with a grin. I entered the store and let out a small "Hello? Is anybody here?" before munching on another roll. "Nobody can so 'No' to a cute dirty kid with a cane..." I thought with an evil grin.

I walked down the steps to see a dirty boy with a cane. He looked slightly familiar, but I shrugged it off. I made sure that I had my knife carefully hidden in my pocket, we had all too many thieves coming through.

"Can I help you?" I asked him politely.

"Can you help me? My mom and dad lost me in that fire, and I'm scared. I saw you come in here, and I thought you could help me..." I said, trying to look as sad as possible. "Let's hope this works..." I thought.

"I was stuck in a crowd and got pushed away, and I don't know where they are. I've seen you a few times before, and I was wondering if I could stay here until they find me?" I asked. "This chick can't say no..." I thought.

I frowned a little, not sure what to say to it. "You know what," I said, "There's a good inn nearby that will let you stay for a while." I handed him about $50. "Just let them know that the Glassmaker's daughter sent you, alright?"

"Thank you..." I said as I walked out. "Ugh, time for plan B" I said to myself. I walked up to the inn and headed inside, then smashed the money on the counter. "Give me a room, the Glassmaker's daughter sent me" I said with an attitude. "Real funny, go back to mommy ok? If you're under 16 you need a parent" the man at the counter said. I frowned and took the money, walked back to the Glassmakers, and caught the woman as she headed up the stairs. "They said I need a parent if I'm under 16, and I don't want to be alone... I hate being alone..." I said, trying to look cute as possible. "I'm getting something good out of this girl, not just money, some actual stuff might help, and $50? I can get something better off a cigar..." I thought.

I looked back down and sighed. "Alright, I'll make a deal with you," I said. "You can stay here as long as you do some work. I'll show you how to work at the furnaces, you get a room and food. Deal?" I figured it wouldn't matter how old he was, I was 8 when I had to start learning to sculpt the glass.

"I'll do anything to get a roof over my head!" I said with a smile. I wasn't lying this time, I made drugs to get a roof over my head, and maybe I could make an even better drug with some stuff lying around... "Maybe this will be a plus for her, and a big plus for me..." I thought to myself.

I glanced over, and saw the same young woman who tripped on the train to Mulholland sitting across the aisle. I put down the newspaper, and asked her. "Didn't I see you on the train here?" She looked nervous, and instead of responding back to me, shoved her nose back into her book. I shrugged, and picked the newspaper back up.

"Alright," I said, relaxing slightly. "I'll pay you $5 a day as a base, and add a bonus based on how well you did. That should be enough for food and whatever else you need," I said, making a clear emphasis on the need, knowing all the drug makers that pass through. "Your room is the first doorway on the left," I finished.
