Author Topic: More death animations  (Read 498 times)

since i've been playing recently I've noticed that there is only 1 death animation (the fall of back one)
I thought of a few good ideas for death animations

Falling
- the blockhead breaks like a toy
- Legs fly off and lies face first

If thrown into wall
- Cartoonishly Peels off the wall
- A splat sound possibly

Vehicle
- Becomes flat
- When ran over a CRUNCH sound could be emitted

Shot
- If shot in chest the blockhead grabs his chest and falls on his chest, back , side (depends what direction is shot at)
- When jumping and killed falls over on his back (default)
- If near ledge falls down face first into ground

Melee
- killed by sword hit in head the BH grabs his head and falls over with his hands on his head

Explosion
- Flies waving his arms crazily

etc.

What do you think or opinions?
I would like to hear

Also instead of the old AAAH! there could be more grunting or death noises too.

This requires access to the actual model. AKA not possible or not pretty, depending on people using Shaper or other methods.

But Mega has got a point through, you need to access the actual model.

lol you reminded me of one of my ideas.

change death sound to scouts death.

how about

Falling
the blockhead briefly flattens into the ground (as in, for barely even a fraction of a second) before bouncing back up again, snapping into place and splaying over on the ground

with normal falling (as in, not fast enough to kill) the blockhead flattens in a similar way but bounces up much less and flattens out much less

Electrical Weapons
the blockhead flashes black and white over a blackened 'electrocution' background. death from this kind of thing results in a blackened blockhead

Ballistic Weapons
the blockhead briefly disappears, then quickly reappears. when killed by this sort of thing, the blockhead flashes yellow, then splays out on the ground

* particularly high damaging ballistic weapons may get gibs, too

Vehicles
the blockhead ROCKETS into the air on death. according to the speed of the vehicle, this may be accompanied by a smoke trail

Explosion
gibs. the entire blockhead doesn't fall apart, but parts of the body detatch: as in, the legs may entirely detatch, or a single foot. the right arm may detatch or the entire upper body. etcetera

* in the case of explosives that don't kill, the blockhead begins to wave around in an unsteady fashion before he hits the ground.

you act as though accessing and editing m.dts is impossible despite it being done plenty before.
