The death of any human being is tragic because it not only means we have lost them, but it means the death of relationships and dreams of that person. The victims of 9/11 hold no more right to being mourned for 10 years than people who die of cancer, war, poverty, or any other ailment.
The only reason they have an anniversary is to that people can get together, spout their American jingles and slogans which only acts as a form of catharsis in our profoundly sick society. When Osama Bin Laden was killed, I watched people doing this exact thing, except instead of mourning they were celebrating the death of another human being.
If you want to fix the problem, fix your society and help the world to do the same.
