Author Topic: Is Civilization V worth it?  (Read 1166 times)

It's on sale for $12.50 right now and I'm tempted to buy it. I dunno if I'll get into it though. Does it have a steep learning edge? Also is the combat turn based also or is it real time combat?

It has always been turn based, just like all the other games in the series.

Oh hell yes. I have over three day's worth of time on it. Very fun game. Lots of great features like unique units and landforms, as with buildings and such. Rulers have special advantages over other rulers so it's always pretty fun.

It looks awesome finally they stopped doing that annoying civ babble and actually talked in their real languages.

As time goes on and you research and upgrade your civilization is it possible for your opponents to be behind by a few ages?

yes it's worth it, why are you posting in this topic for? go get it gog dammit

Very yes. But there are many a difficulty settings.

Hmmm, that's really cool. Can I start out with allies or do I have to make them through diplomacy when I find them?

In Civ IV, you can start with them.

Once you get past a few nagging technical issues and the long arse load times, it's a bloody great game.

Get Civ5 and you will never regret it.

just got it :D
friend bought it for me and gifted it to me after i gave him some moneys
