Author Topic: Youtube has offered me partnership. Yea or Nay?  (Read 2793 times)

I have recently received a message from Youtube regarding partnership. If anyone doesn't know what this is, after getting a certain amount of activity on your channel, Youtube offers partnership where they place ad's on your videos and provide you a share of the payment with all channel customization options.

Is youtube partnership something I should consider?

Pros: After becoming a partner, I get full customization of my video and channel settings so I will be able to polish my channel more then the average person alongside, making a couple of spare dollars which could prove useful in the future. Youtube will also promote my videos and considering 70% of my videos being Blockland related, The game will receive more attention.

Cons: Ads. Possible requirement of consistency with my video uploads.

The issue is that ads keep youtube alive. Companies pay youtube big bucks to put there ads on videos. I fear that ads in my videos would destroy my viewers opinions and spam my comment box with comments such as "thumbs up if you hate ads" however, as I said, ads keep youtube alive and provide me some spare cash possibly serving as a part time job.

Please share your thoughts on this subject as this choice could potentially be my biggest decision for my youtubing career.

Nearly everyone gets this when they have 100 subscribers, I have about 1000+ subscribers but trust me, you'll never be able to get on the program.

What? He got sent an invitation to the program.

But anyway, if you have a choice in exactly how much ads, don't go for those ones that play before the video. Those drive viewers away, sometimes I just don't bother watching videos if I'm not in the mood to be sold something for thirty seconds.

Yes, so have I.
It's not an actual "invitation", it's just a point where you get popular enough and Youtube wants to see if they can make you more popular so they can get profit.

I was getting this when I had around 50-60 subscribers. It depends on the video views, mostly. I think the mark is around 200-300. Could be wrong, though.

SharpTH has been terminated?
