If ANYONE can figure this out, I'd give them my soul:

If you think that's easy to fix, good luck.

Try running minecraft, then the server  It's probably missing the game's files.

No good

I'm curious about how that relates to the problem at hand...

Additionally, If anyone knows of a way to contact Notch/Mojang please tell me.

i have the same exact problem

im sure you dont delete the minecraft.ja- oh it says .minecraft.
did you play minecraft to get all the folders again, and then use the minecraft server thing?

HEY!
That guys using my avatar!

I have never had this issue before but if you get in contact with a smaller moderator of the forum, surely he can pass it up to Notch.

delete all the source files and start from step 1.

Tried it

You mean like this?: I deleted the ENTIRE Minecraft folder, re-downloaded it from Minecraft.net, and still got the same problem? It's almost like there's some hidden file somewhere in another folder.

How would I find one?

Try right clicking your minecraft_server.jar/exe then go to properties.  At the bottom right there might be an unblock button click that.  If it's not there make sure it can write to the folder it's in.

Since it seems to be having issues creating a server.properties file maybe you should make your own.

Here's the default server.properties for it.

Code: [Select]
level-name=world
allow-nether=true
view-distance=10
spawn-monsters=true
online-mode=true
spawn-animals=true
max-players=20
server-ip=
pvp=true
level-seed=
server-port=25565
allow-flight=false
white-list=false

To make one manually, open notepad and put that in there.  Then save it to the folder the minecraft server is in as server.properties

I have no idea if these will work and someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

I seriously have no idea if any of that will work.

But if anything does it will be the second thing I posted.

To clarify, are you using 1.8's server jar, or 1.7.3's?
