Honestly, I just can't see how taking away extra money for the government is good. In France, a bunch of rich people offered to donate and get taxed extra to help their country. Here, however, it seems like a number of rich people decide they don't want to give away money to the big bad government, despite having too much.. Both Republicans and Democrats do stupid stuff in office, but I think the Republicans have dumber ideals in general.
