Why does this bother me more than it should...

Laser mice are not unreliable. My parents had a Microsoft laser mouse from 2003 until 2009 until the scroll wheel broke, and until then it worked flawlessly. Ball mice are loving horrible; the rubber ball gets stuck inside the case all the time, even if you use a proper mouse mat.

My mom used a laser mouse for 7 years and it still work flawless, the only thing wrong with it is the left mouse button is worn out not to mention I used it to play games and so does my brother it also warns you if the battery is low.
