Author Topic: Why are movie video games so lame?!  (Read 2809 times)

Don't you think movie video games are kinda stupid? Bad graphics and not a very good story line?
I'm thinking that they should make it more like an Objective game that has checkpoints like Modern Warfare 2 and Ghost Recon.
Take Percy Jackson for example. They should make a first person game that has checkpoints. And the checkpoints will be parts of the story.
(e.g.) Objective: Explore Aunty Em's Garden Gnome Emporium.
You would then follow some trail and search around her Gnome Emporium, And maybe a little movie clip of her giving you cheeseburgers.
Next Objective: Search room for Drachmas.
And so on. It would probably be a better game (in my opinion) with objectives like that.
Post your thoughts about this too!!

Not all Movie video games were bad, specifically a ton of the old ones. But now days, as soon as a new movie is going to come out, there has to be a game on that movie. The games are rushed, and given no effort.

I haven't seen any good movie video games though. There all 3rd person and badly made.

I'm sure with a little research you would find a good one. As I said, some of the older ones were actually good.

What do you mean?
Movies made with real people, or in the game?
Doom was good.

As I said, Percy Jackson is real people acting. Then since its popular, somebody makes a game out of it.

OHHHHH!
You meant make a game out of a movie.
I thought you meant Make a movie out of a game.

Your average movie video game will be released and developed the same time it takes to shoot the movie. Also all the budget is going to the movie and the game gets a small fraction.

Your hollywood studio heads know the game will be a bust but they know they will make a profit out of it because people are idiots.

Not to mention that a huge majority of the buyers will be young 10 year old children.

I have to agree with this but star wars did have some good games.

Star wars battlefront 2 is loving awesome

You mean the games that weren't meant to be released with the movie? Well gee I wonder why they didn't suck.

I enjoyed the Ice age games. it was fun to play as the squirrel, the game had pretty nice graphics and levels were really intresting.

The Incredibles.
I had this game when I was like 6, and I was too scared to play the jungle levels.
