Author Topic: Is Minecraft the right thing for me?  (Read 1766 times)

After seeing the intro video, fan-made YouTube videos and reading about it on Wikipedia, I'm now thinking of getting it.

What I do like, from what I've seen and read, is the character customisation, randomly generated landscapes, a neat-looking salvage/building scheme and strategy on surviving as long as possible. I can do pixel art for a neat-looking character, and I just think the survival scheme in the game looks like fun.

The only problem is that I can only play on friends' servers, which I need some kind of key to access. My sister, who plays Minecraft, told me about the whole friend key thing, and I do not like the sound of it.

Is Minecraft the right thing for me?

P.S. I'm not telling you my sister's username.

My sister told me that you need some kind of a key from your friends to play on their servers. Is this the only way you can go on any servers at all?

Most likely an ip adress, or maybe she is referring to whitelist?

you need the server's IP since there isn't a server list.
