Author Topic: I need a good screen recorder  (Read 867 times)

I can't use fraps because it makes me lag like stuff, and I can't use hypercam because the quality of the videos are stuffty, can you guys help me out?

Get a better computer and use Fraps.

Try Hypercam 3. It has the best free version of them all.

Note to haters who say it has poor quality, this is fixed easily by going to settings and changing the compressor to "Uncompressed Video".

apparently quicktime player has good video quality.

What about the nasty watermark?

If Fraps lags, try going to the Movies tab and going to Video Capture Settings, then click 29.97.

I'll try that, will come back with updated info.

Tucked in a corner instead of on the middle of the stage at least.
Also unlimited clip time on recordings in free.

Procaster is pretty good, and you can broadcast as you record.

I can't use fraps because it makes me lag like stuff

Its unlikely this is Fraps fault as tools like this are designed to be sensitive to game performance. What are your specs? You might have an unsuitable computer for this kind of thing that can't process video very well.

It's not fraps fault, it's your computers fault that it makes you lag like stuff.

if you're going to record yourself playing a game do not play at such a high resolution. playing at low res, like 1024x768, will result in a higher framerate.
also, fraps; 1 1/2 minute video = 2 gb, what the christ

Fraps saves footage as AVI movies, AVI movies are extremely large.
