witnesses recant things back and forth all the time in all trials.
and defense and the prosecutors question the witnesses so much and confuse them all around.
you can make a jury believe anything you want, regardless of testimonies.
original testimonies are legit. recanting means official, which isnt what happened. whoever coined that phrase in use of this trial shouldnt have, as nothing was actually "recanted"

Whats the actual story of him killing the cop, and who was it that saw him, and where. For one, Davis looked pretty generic, I'm sure there are many people who look like him. And I'm sure it wasn't in the open street where everyone could see him, so the 'eye witnesses' probably couldn't even tell what his features were.

if witnesses came out and actually admitted to false testimony (like stuntman, and like how the news would want you to believe) then the witnesses would be in jail right now. OR the case would have been brought back in for improper police questioning, and an obvious release.

since those things didnt happen. then the witlessness's testimonies were never undone. and he is legally a criminal.
