the bible actually promotes multiple wives, and promotes love for pleasure. even love slaves were given as gifts from god.
but christians dont read it so they make it up instead.

there's an entire book in the bible that is disregarded. IMO all religion is like mythology to me, and i treat it as such. funny, considering i go to a catholic highschool and all.

In my Catholic high school, religion is just taught and this ideal is based heavily upon the religion courses.  It's not preached or an attempt to convert you, you just learn about it like any subject.
